At the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2024, held from October 3-5 in Greater Noida, investments worth Rs 1,850 crore were committed for India’s biogas sector.

IBA Chairman Gaurav Kedia said the investments came in the form of joint ventures, MoUs, and Letters of intent (LoIs) with a strong focus on countries including Germany, Sweden, and the UK.

The EXPO had 47 exhibitors from 10 biogas-producing countries reflecting the role of India in the field of clean energy. 

Some of the key projects were announced including Rs-900 crore MoUs and almost 50 letters of intent for Compressed Bio Gas plants.

The IBA was established in 2011 and works for the growth of biogas from New Delhi all around India in cooperation with international partners, such as the German Biogas Association.

IBA president Dr. A R Shukla highlighted the success of the Expo and emphasized the role of MNRE in the biogas energy pavilion and considering its holistic advantages by replacing fossil fuels completely.
