After the Rajasthan Royals step forward for solar installation, with every six they hit, there is another IPL team that takes this league forward.
Every time a Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player hits six sixes this IPL season, something special happens. Vikram Solar, a solar panel company, uses that moment to give back to the country. They are helping bring solar power to homes in India.
This new idea connects cricket with clean energy. For every six sixes hit by KKR players, Vikram Solar will install solar panels in homes. These homes are picked through a contest on the company’s social media.
That’s not all. Vikram Solar also planted trees to honor each KKR player. The event took place at their Falta facility in West Bengal. Twenty-four children, called “Sunshine Ambassadors,” planted saplings—one for each KKR team member.
The children later met the players and gave them special certificates. Each certificate had a QR code. This lets the players check how their tree is growing in real-time. It connects them with nature in a fun and smart way.
Vikram Solar’s boss, Gyanesh Chaudhary, said that, their goal is to create long-term change. He believes that using technology and teamwork can help build a solar-powered nation.
KKR CEO Venky Mysore also shared his thoughts. He said cricket is more than just a game. It can bring positive change. He felt proud that sixes hit by KKR players are now helping light up homes for the needy ones.
This kind of initiative shows how solar energy can come together to help people and protect the planet. It’s not just about winning matches, it’s about doing something good with every run.
