Ardian Clean Energy Evergreen Fund Goes to Italy, Adds 116 MW Plant to Its Portfolio

by | Jul 3, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Ardian, an investment firm, has acquired a 116 MW portfolio of 117 solar PV plants in Italy. The solar power plants have been operating at full capacity for over 10 years. They have also been upgraded to the latest solar technology. These upgrades have led to increased efficiency in output over the years, allowing the plants to produce more power.

This deal supports ACEEF’s expansion plans. The company usually prefers working on older solar projects that can be upgraded and improved. These projects often have long-term contracts or receive government incentives. The projects under ACEEF are spread across Italy, which will allow it to further increase power production.

ACEEF’s goal is to grow in a smart and valuable way, and this deal makes them even stronger. The company’s total energy output is 400 MW from wind, solar, water, and biogas. They also have another 400 MW project in progress. InEnergy, a subsidiary of ACEEF in Italy, will be responsible for managing and improving these projects.

Gianluca Lancellotti, founder and general manager of E2E said, “E2E has been working on projects that receive government incentives. For over 10 years, we have been buying and managing such projects. We have built a total of more than 300 MW of solar projects in the last nine years.”
He also added that in the last year, they have worked closely with Ardian, their investment partner, to run power plants more efficiently. Due to this collaboration, the plants now earn more than €630,000 per MW each year. He praised their partnership with Ardian and expressed hope to continue working together on future projects.

Federico Gotti Tedeschi, Managing Director of Infrastructure at Ardian, said, “This deal fits perfectly with our ambition to grow renewable energy projects in Italy. The solar power assets from E2E will be a significant addition to our existing wind and hydro energy projects. It will help us use different types of clean energy and expand into more locations. With a long-term approach, our strategy remains strong, and we can continue improving these projects through new technology and a diverse energy mix.”

ACEEF is an infrastructure fund that invests in renewable energy. Its fundraising reached €1.0 billion in July 2023. The fund focuses on renewable assets, including wind, hydro, and emerging technologies.

Ardian began investing in renewable energy in 2007. The company now manages more than 800 MW of thermal and renewable energy plants across Europe and America.
