Narendra Modi became India’s prime minister for the third consecutive term. Every sector of the country is aiming high in development. One of the important and growing sectors – The renewable Energy Sector is making its expectations high in aspects of development. People in this sector want the government to make policies and strategies to quicken the green energy future of the nation.
The vice president and some officials of ICRA Limited said that the government needs to work on renewable energy plants to increase clean energy. He also advised that they should pay attention to devices that store renewable energy like battery energy storage and pumped hydro projects etc for the time when sun and wind energy isn’t there. Another point he highlighted was about how power is supplied in households and businesses. Some initiatives like using smart meters need to be looked after.
Under the second term, Modi and the government initiated schemes like PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, which aims to install rooftop solar panels in about 1 crore households in the country. A leader of GP Eco, Astik Mani Tripathi expects that in the third term, the government will focus on investments in large-scale battery energy storage systems to sustain renewable energy for future use.
Anirudh Saraswat, the founder of Oriana Power highlights their expectations from the government in the renewable energy sector. He expects the government to provide policy stability, consistent tariffs, and incentives that can encourage investments. Infrastructures include modernizing the grids for their better handling capacity of renewable energy and making effective access to financial loans with low interest from government banks. They also need support to get access to new industries like Compressed Biogas (CBG), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and green hydrogen.
Many officials of some more renewable energy industries emphasized the role of government in making the nation develop in renewable energy. Amit Jain, CEO of Engie India, mentions the significance of creating sources for grids to achieve Engie’s Net Zero Carbon goal by 2045. Further, Mahesh Girdhar, CEO of EverEnviro Resource Management asks for low-cost investments and high-risk facilities to look after the operational costs in the renewable sector.
Majorly all the leaders ask for support from the government to ensure and make strategies for India’s renewable industry to boost and sustain its environmental goals.
