India’s Solar Car Revolution Begins

A Pune-based startup Vayve Mobility, is set to redefine urban mobility with its first-ever innovative solar-powered electric car, Eva

They showcased this car at the Auto Expo 2023, but at that time it was not production-ready and was a prototype model.

This compact and eco-friendly vehicle is here to revolutionize the way we commute, with its upcoming appearance at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi, Eva is ready to make a significant mark in the Indian automotive landscape.

Eva’s standout feature lies in integrating solar power with high-voltage electric technology. It offers a range of 250 kilometers per charge, with an additional 3,000 kilometers of solar-powered travel annually.

The car also supports super-fast charging, delivering 50 kilometers of range in just five minutes. Eva boasts a top speed of 70 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just five seconds, designed for daily city commutes.

The car is equipped with a 14 kWh battery and an 8.15 PS/40 Nm electric motor. Its operational cost is as low as just ₹0.5 per kilometer, making it an economical alternative to traditional petrol vehicles.

Seamless smartphone integration, vehicle diagnostics, remote monitoring, and over-the-air update features make it appeal as a tech-savvy solution for metropolitans.

Eva’s design addresses key urban challenges such as limited parking, traffic congestion, and rising fuel costs. Its compact size and lightweight engineering make it ideal for individuals or small families with an average daily travel of less than 35 kilometers.

Vayve Mobility emphasizes sustainability, positioning Eva as a second car for urban households while promoting renewable energy usage. Nilesh Bajaj (CEO) of Vayve Mobility said “We focused on bridging the innovation gaps in the small car segment, offering a product that is both aspirational and efficient.

Vayve is led by an exceptional founding team, including Nilesh Bajaj (CEO), Vilas Deshpande (COO), Saurabh Mehta (CTO), and Ankit Jain (CoS).

As India moves forward into a future of green mobility, Eva stands as a shining example of how innovation and practicality can converge to create solutions that are both sustainable and accessible.
