This week, when Vikram Solar just launched its IPO, another big industry giant, Goldi Solar, got its new investor. We all know Zerodha Co-founder Nikhil Kamath and his vision. But does he know way ahead that we didn’t notice yet?

While the US markets are fluctuating for their energy stock. One of India’s big solar manufacturers, Goldi Solar, gets its new investor as Nikhil Kamath puts 137.5 cr into the company.

Goldi Solar, started in 2011 by Ishverbhai Dholakia in Surat, Gujarat, is one of the top makers of high-efficiency solar panels. The company is also working on advanced solar cells and offers EPC services. Now the company is planning to set up a 1 GW solar park by 2025-26.

In 2023-24, the company earned ₹1,756.36 crore in revenue and ₹59.38 crore in profit, showing strong financial health for further growth.

Nikhil Kamath said that investments like this are very important to speed up India’s shift to clean energy. Government policies like import duties on foreign modules and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme are also giving strong backing to local manufacturers.

This growth also shows India’s energy journey, where domestic players are taking center stage while foreign competition faces restrictions.

With the investment, Goldi Solar will be able to grow its manufacturing, bring new solar solutions, and grow its presence in the market. This partnership shows how business investments and large-scale production together will help India become a global leader in renewable energy.
