Solar Sector Win: Waaree Transpower Secures ₹100 Crore Transformer Deal

by | Dec 24, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Waaree Transpower,  a part of the Waaree Group, has secured a large-scale order of ₹100 crore for inverter duty transformers for large-scale solar projects across India. The order covers a total capacity of 1.27 GW. It has been placed by one of the leading solar EPC firms in the country.

This is an excellent start for Waaree Transpower, as within a month of launching the product, the company achieved IDT orders worth more than ₹100 crore.

These transformers will be used in utility-scale solar projects spread across multiple states, although the company has not shared a specific timeline for deployment.

Waaree Transpower was earlier known as Kotsons Private Limited, which Waaree Energies acquired in October for ₹192 crore before rebranding it. These new orders show how the acquisition is already adding to Waaree’s strength in the power and renewable equipment segment.

Unlike conventional transformers, which work with low-frequency AC power, inverter duty transformersare capable of dealing with high voltage, making them significantly important in solar power installations. Even this particular deal emphasizes the rising need among Indian companies for sophisticated tools with the growing solar power generation in India.
