Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) shares gained on Thursday, November 27, 2025, rising over 5% to an intraday high of ₹237.85. Around 10 AM, the stock was still up 2.39% at ₹231.35, while the Sensex traded 0.30% higher at 85,869.58.

The stock moved higher after the company announced a major new international order from South Africa, its second this fiscal year. SWREL has secured a turnkey EPC contract to build a 240 MW AC solar power project worth around ₹1,313 crore ($147 million).

With this deal, the company is now working on four solar projects in South Africa for four well-known developers. Two projects awarded last year are already progressing well, helping SWREL strengthen its presence in the fast-growing South African solar market, which is expanding due to rising corporate energy demand, falling solar costs, and the need for better grid stability.

SWREL’s global CEO, Chandra Kishore Thakur, said the company has achieved around ₹5,088 crore in order inflows so far this fiscal, and expects strong momentum to continue.

Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy is a global EPC company specialising in utility-scale solar, floating solar, hybrid projects, and energy storage solutions. It has a total project portfolio of 22.8 GWp and manages 9.3 GWp of solar assets. The company operates in 28 countries across multiple regions.

SWREL’s market capitalisation currently stands at ₹5,395.75 crore, according to BSE data.
