The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (yeida) has approved two big solar projects in Sector-8, near the upcoming Noida International Airport.
These projects will bring investments of more than ₹11,000 crore and create thousands of jobs, turning the area into an important hub for clean energy production.
According to Yeida officials, Integrated Batteries India (IB Solar) will set up a solar cell and module manufacturing unit on 25 acres with a capacity of 4 gigawatts (GW). The company has proposed an investment of about ₹3,000 crore.
In July, SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited had also received approval for an integrated plant spread across 200 acres. With an investment of ₹8,200 crore, this project will add 5 GW of solar cells and 5 GW of modules.
Both projects are part of commitments made at the 2023 UP Investors’ Summit and are being backed by Invest UP.
Officials said the facilities will help increase India’s solar manufacturing capacity, cut down dependence on imports, and support the adoption of green energy.
With Jewar Airport and other major infrastructure coming up nearby, Sector-8 along the Yamuna Expressway is fast emerging as a strategic hub for renewable energy industries.
