PM Surya Ghar—Muft Bijli Yojana is an initiative launched by the government of India. This program aims to empower households to generate electricity by installing rooftop solar projects. This initiative provides subsidies of ₹78,000. The government aims to provide electricity to 1 crore households in our country.
The plan is to train 1 lakh workers to maintain and install household solar panels. The “Skilling Plan” was established by the ministries of renewable energy, skill development, and entrepreneurship for PM Surya Ghar—Muft Bijli Yojana; it concerns a solar project by the government that enables households to generate 300 units of electricity with the help of grid-connected solar panels.
The number of workers will increase as soon as the demand for installation increases. REC Ltd.’s (Rural Electrification Corporation Limited) objective is to collaborate with organizations such as the National Power Training Institute and the National Skill Development Corporation to achieve this aim. The government is planning to train 50,000 vendors to participate in solar entrepreneurship.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has implemented a new portal for vendor registration. The expense of ₹75,021 crore includes the subsidies and collateral loan for consumers. Currently, over 10 million people have shown interest by registering for the scheme, and 8 lakh have applied for solar installation.
