The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) is planning to attract Rs 1,600 crore in investments in the biogas sector at the upcoming Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2024. This event is a major opportunity for companies and investors to collaborate on clean energy projects, especially in biogas.
Biogas is produced from organic wastes, such as food scraps and plant material, making it a renewable energy source. It minimizes pollution and can provide energy to homes or businesses.
An expert highlighted that even though biogas currently makes up less than 1% of the energy mix, it has the potential to grow significantly and could play an important role in India’s energy plans by 2030.
IBA sees this expo as an opportunity to give the biogas sector yet another boost with newer opportunities and interests.
The key supporters for the Bio-Energy Pavilion 2024 include the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the National Institute of Bio-Energy, and the World Bioenergy Association. Their support of the pavilion is a sign of how critical biogas is in the future of energy plans in India.
These organizations are working together to make India a leader in renewable energy and create more green jobs.
This event will bring more attention to biogas and help India move towards using cleaner energy sources in the future.
