JSW Neo Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has received a Letter of Award from Solar Energy Corporation of India to install a 500 MW solar power plant connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS). The project will include 250 MW of solar plants. JSW New Energy is contracted to develop 1200 MW of ISTA-connected solar power projects with 600 MW/1200 MW hours of energy storage.

The company locked-in the generation of more electricity which is 16 GW and also stored more energy which is at least 2.2 GWh. The company is aiming to increase the capacity of electricity generation to at least 10 GW by the financial year 2025 for a current capacity of 7.5 GW.

Recently, JSW Energy has a total locked-in generation capacity of 15.5 GW which includes 7.5 GW operational, 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro, and RE pipeline of 5.7 GW. They also have 3.7 GWh of storing energy capacity and are aiming to reach a target of 40 GWh by 2030. JSW Energy has ambitious goals to be a major leader in renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
