The 6th Research and Development 20 (RD20) Conference will be held from 2nd to 6th December 2024, at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India. The conference is hosted by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).
Keeping India’s growing prominence in the global clean energy sector the conference will be held outside Japan, for the first time ever.
RD20 is an international framework initiative launched in 2019 for research and development and provides a common platform for G20 nations to achieve carbon neutrality.
This conference is organized by Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), in collaboration with TERI and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
The conference will feature a series of technical sessions, leadership discussions, and workshops focusing on key areas such as renewable energy, hydrogen technologies, life cycle analysis (LCA), sustainable aviation fuels, and biofuels.
These sessions are designed to focus on exchanging ideas and innovative research and identify potential collaboration opportunities among participating nations.
The main highlight of the event is the closed-door international workshop, which will identify collaborative projects among G20 countries to find challenges in the clean energy domain. This initiative reflects a combined effort to strengthen collective expertise and resources to address environmental issues.
The decision to host the conference in India is taken because, from 2024 onwards, the RD20 event has been planned and organized in other G20 countries outside Japan, every alternate year, each even year.
The conference offers both in-person and virtual participation options to reach a global audience who are committed to advancing clean energy solutions.
As the world is struggling with climate change challenges, the 6th RD20 Conference represents a crucial moment for international collaboration to chase sustainable and clean energy innovations.
As a part of our journey in decoding clean energy and promoting sustainable solutions at Renewable Affairs, we support this kind of initiative taken by government officials. This will not only promote India’s stand on sustainable solutions but also as a leading country in this sector we can influence industry decisions.
