Amid global concerns about carbon footprints and pollution, Noida International Airport (NIA) has announced a partnership with Mahindra Logistics Mobility to introduce a premium, all-electric taxi service for passengers traveling to and from the airport.
The service will minimize walking distances for passengers operating 24/7, featuring premium pick-up and drop-off facilities located at the arrival and departure curbs. The booking services will be accessible through multiple channels, including a dedicated mobile app, website, call center, airline alliances, and airport kiosks, for travelers’ ease and convenience.
The electric fleet will be managed using a dynamic operational model, adjusting in real-time based on passenger demand and flight schedules. This approach will help minimize wait times and extend service availability. Drivers will undergo training for a high-quality experience in airport and customer service.
Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, highlighted the partnership’s commitment to passenger satisfaction and sustainability. “This first-of-its-kind airport-branded cab service will set a new benchmark for passenger convenience and environmental responsibility. It reflects our commitment to delivering a best-in-class experience from when passengers arrive at the airport to their onward journey.”
The all-electric taxi service aligns with NIA’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions while promoting the airport’s sustainable design and operations.
NIA will feature one runway and a terminal capable of handling 12 million passengers annually In its first phase, with future expansions to accommodate up to 70 million passengers per year.
The NIA was developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, which is a 100% subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. India’s first net zero emissions airport certified by IGBC continues to integrate global sustainability standards into its operations, to redefine modern air travel in India.
