Solex Green to Develop Solar Plants Worth ₹68.7 Crore in Gujarat

by | Jul 4, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Solex Green Energy, under Gujarat’s Distributed Renewable Energy Bilateral Purchase Policy (DREBP), received a project to develop multiple solar plants. The overall project size is 24.1 MW. The value of these projects is ₹68.685 crore. The projects are expected to be completed during the FY 2025- 2026 in phases.

Solex Green secured this project from various individuals, including Khemka Sunayana Balkrishna, Shilpi Saileshbhai Khemka, Rekhaben Pravinbhai Dankhara, and others.

DREBP is a scheme under the Gujarat government that aims to support small investors by simplifying the process of developing renewable energy projects. The scheme makes the application and development process easier by providing simple registration, faster grid connections, and allowing developers to sell power at a fixed rate set by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).

The policy aims to increase Gujarat’s clean energy production faster by providing quick approvals for developing projects. The policy targets wind projects under 10 MW and solar projects up to 5 MW.

Previously, a project under DREBP was developed by KPI Green, which was aligned with Gujarat’s renewable energy policy and the GERC tariff order of 2024. GERC set a gross tariff of ₹2.76/kWh and a net tariff of ₹2.48/kWh for solar projects up to 5 MW. Gujarat’s renewable energy policy allows individuals as well as companies to develop projects without competitive bidding for solar projects up to 4 MW and wind projects under 10 MW.

The GERC tariff order 2024 allows DISCOMs or GOVNL to sign connectivity agreements with applicants and issue them an automated letter of award on behalf of the DISCOMs.
