The Rajasthan government has approved three new solar power plants across Barmer, Bikaner, and Jodhpur. This will add around 750 MW of renewable power to the state.
Industry experts say the move will help reduce electricity costs for agricultural users and improve daytime power supply for irrigation.
Etrica Power, a key player in solar pump installations under the PM-KUSUM scheme, says this decision strengthens the shift toward affordable, clean-powered farming.
Aditya Singh Poonia, CEO of Etrica Power, said:
“With the state increasing solar generation capacity, the transition to solar irrigation becomes faster and more cost-effective for farmers. Reliable daytime power helps farmers irrigate fields without depending on diesel or fluctuating grid supply.”
Etrica Power has already installed hundreds of solar irrigation pumps across Rajasthan and Gujarat. The company plans to expand installation capacity as the state accelerates its renewable energy rollout.
As more funding and solar infrastructure come in, farmers are expected to benefit from lower irrigation expenses and more stable power access.
