Bihar is about to make a big step in clean energy with the launch of its largest solar-plus-battery power project in Kazra village, Jamui district.
This important project is part of the World Bank-backed Bihar Kosi Basin Development Plan, which works to improve infrastructure and protect flood-prone areas.
The goal is to give people steady and reliable electricity by using solar panels along with batteries. This way, power will still be available even when there is no sunlight. It helps solve a big problem in villages where power cuts happen often.
The Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA), along with local officials, is leading the work on this project. While the exact size of the system hasn’t been shared yet, it is being called the biggest of its kind in Bihar.
The World Bank is providing funding for this project through its development program. They aim to help rural communities by giving them better access to electricity and opening up new job opportunities.
It also set an example for other similar energy projects in parts of India that don’t have enough power.
