Hyundai Motor India is making great progress in clean energy. The company has just signed an amazing agreement for 75 MW of solar power and is now developing 43 MW of wind capacity in Tamil Nadu.
With this progress, Hyundai’s renewable energy share will go up to an impressive 88% by March 2025, supported by projects like its 10 MW rooftop solar plant.
The deals are part of a partnership with Hyderabad-based Fourth Partner Energy under the Group Captive Model. Together, they are building a 118 MW renewable energy project, 75 MW solar, and 42.9 MW wind power.
Hyundai’s push into renewables has grown since its US$3.3 billion IPO in October 2024. The company reported revenue of ₹691,929 million and a profit of ₹56,402 million for FY 2024–25.
In June this year, Hyundai partnered with IIT Madras and the Tamil Nadu Government to design a hydrogen research.
This research focuses on advancing fuel cell technologies, supporting hydrogen development. It will also offer opportunities for young researchers and startups.
